The last post was Terry's Talkin' Tribe...but if they change the name to Rocks...would it be Terry's Talkin' Rocks? Is that good or bad? ... See MoreSee Less

I'm rapidly losing interest in professional sports due to political motivated issues like this. Virtue signaling in an almost cult like fashion by many whom are ignorant of the history of this teams origins and it's generational legacy among Cleveland families. Sports team names were a form of honor not hate. This form of revisionist history by the P.C. Cult of the ignorant is sad indeed when something off honor built over a century of time can be destroyed so easily by those with such short term awareness...

Being a fan all my life I have studied everything about the Indians from the beginning to the present and read many books of my beloved Indians . I have been a fan of Terry for a long time I have read most of his books and enjoyed all of them like the Indians I became a fan of Mr. Pluto. I will miss the name Indians and I am very sad but I understand the reason , so it’s move on hopefully I’ll see the World Series.

What gets me is how different I feel today than I did when Chief Wahoo was retired. I felt like I was losing a piece of who I was then. Now, just two years later I realize that it’s just a name and it MUST go. I don’t know how I’ve changed, but I do believe it’s for the better.

I am not a fan of rocks , having a rock logo on uniform very sad. They should have a contest and let fans send in name and pick a winner .

Use one of our minor league affiliate’s names and become the Cleveland Captains. It’s catchy, alliterative, and geographically relevant. You could call them the “Caps” for short, which is a perfect nickname for a baseball team.

Also, the only reason the Spiders had the worst record in history for one season is the owner of the St. Lois Browns changed the name to the Perfectos and moved all the best players like Cy Young to STL (he owned Spiders, as well).

I'm tired of rock themed names...how about something out of the box this time

The Cleveland Spiders. It’s that easy. Speaks to the original name and history, cool logo and marketing opportunities await, and no one really has that name outside of Richmond.

I don't care what they're called. I'm a Cleveland fan and will always support them.

If they are going to do this to us how about the Naps? I like it bc it will only resonate with true fans and everybody else can go jump in a lake.

Change it to the WGAS! You figure out what that stands for.

Change it to "Terry's Rockin' Baseball."

Let's pray on everything holy they do not name the team "Rocks".... Ugh it's awful

Your columns are good by any name

Not if you’re becoming a music writer 😂

If they are wishy-washy enough to change the name after losing Chief Wahoo then I'm done. Can't win a World Series and can't stand up for their history. Quit being such wimps!

I’m in favor of not changing the name. This is an historical name. They already got rid of Chief Wahoo. If I were to change the name how about the Cleveland Towers after the Terminal Tower.

I’m hoping for a change to The Tribe

I'm very sad to probably see the name Indians go. I feel it is tougher on the older generation than the young. I will always be a Cleveland fan of baseball, my favorite sport. Please don't call it the Rocks. I personally like the Cleveland Naps.

I discovered that for the whole covid shutdown when there were no professional sports being played, I was able to find other things to do. Funny thing, I don't feel compelled to even care about professional sports anymore. Multi-millionaires arguing about more money, using jerseys and other sport items made in sweatshops in third world countries. Even sports have overflowed with politics. Gonna be a great summer and fall being outdoors enjoying the freetime not chained to a TV.

If they change the name, the Dolans may as well sell the team to someone who will move it to Montreal.

You better hope they do not change the name to Trash. Terry Talkin’ Trash!

We already have a team in baseball called the Rockies...Rocks or Rockers doesn't work.

The team should appoint an advisory task force on the issue, with a qualified native-descended person as chair and spokesperson. This independent TF should interviews and focus groups with native people across the country. Then the board should present team ownership and management with the findings and recommendations. Then, last step, bring that chair and/or other TF members to a press conference to announce what the team is going to do.

Terry what would help more, changing the names or contributions to supply clean water and electricity to Native Americans homes?
